Dogs on leads are welcome in the grounds at Dover Castle. Assistance dogs are welcome across the site.
The White Cliffs of Dover & South Foreland Lighthouse
Dogs are allowed along the cliff top and around the grounds of the South Foreland Lighthouse. There are tables and chairs placed outside the White Cliffs Visitor Centre so you can take refreshments with your pet whilst admiring the view across the English Channel. It is wise to keep your dog on the lead as the cliff edge isn't fenced! You will also meet the Exmoor ponies that roam the White Cliffs near St Margaret's.
The Pines Garden
The beautiful organically managed and sustainable Pines Garden welcomes dog walkers. The Pines Garden Tea Room offers homemade produce and a warm welcome to dogs and their owners in their tranquil surroundings.
The Salutation Gardens
Designed in 1912 by architect Sir Edwin Lutyens and set in the heart of Sandwich. Its infamous long borders and tree-lined avenues, feature artistic and inventive planting provide visitors with an oasis of serenity and calm. The Salutation Gardens (Secret Gardens of Sandwich) welcomes dogs on leads.
Samphire Hoe is a man-made nature reserve made from the material dug to create the Channel Tunnel. Situated below Shakespeare Cliff, with stunning sea views. Dogs on leads are welcome.
The Western Heights
The Western Heights Nature Reserve is carved into the hillside of Dover. Dog walkers are welcome all year round.
