Our Gardens

Quintessentially English, our beautiful parklands and gardens, have been shaped by the most eminent names in the history of English garden design.

Goodnestone Park Gardens were created over centuries by successive generations of the FitzWalter family. Jane Austin was a frequent visitor here and today Goodnestone stages open air concerts, operas, plays and plant fairs.

The Pines Garden has a fabulous setting, close to cliff walks and pebbly beaches, while the newly opened Salutation in Sandwich showcases the work of Jekyll and Lutyens.

Walmer Castle Garden, much loved by the late Queen Mother who had an official residence here, boasts a fabulous Broad Walk lined by billowing yew boundaries, and a simple classic garden designed especially for her Majesty, containing all her favourite plants.
