About Us
The White Cliffs Country Tourism Association was
created as an independent trade organisation in response to local
authority policy for tourism in the Dover, Deal and Sandwich
area.
WCCTA is a membership organisation and currently has just over
30 members from both voluntary and commercial sectors with the aim
of encouraging and developing tourism to the district.
WCCTA’s aim, with the support of official bodies and member
organisations, is to encourage the development of local tourism
by:
- creating marketing initiatives to increase numbers of UK and
Continental visitors
- promoting the virtues of off-peak tourism
- raising local awareness of good practice within the tourism
industry
The Association’s membership is strongly representative of local
tourism, and draws together a wide range of local firms and
interested groups. Recognised as a valuable forum for local tourism
interests, its views are correspondingly influential on matters
concerning the industry. The WCCTA has given opinion on a variety
of issues to M.P.s and Government Ministries; Regional Tourist
Boards; D.H.B., County and District councils, etc. Subjects
include:
- standards and grading
- opening hours of Visitor Information Centres
- signposting for tourists
- helping awareness in all tourism related issues
As well as providing a powerful united voice on tourism, WCCTA
members benefit from access to each other. This networking between
tourism professionals within the WCCTA membership has given rise to
many successful joint commercial initiatives.
We welcome new membership applications from local companies,
organisations and individuals connected with tourism and forms can
