The Gardeners' Kitchen Tearoom is located in Alkham Valley Garden Centre, a family owned independent garden centre in the beautiful Alkham Valley. At Shelly`s of St Margaret's Bay whether you have our oven baked jacket potatoes, our baguettes baked fresh each morning or our home made soups and curry you can be assured of only the very best, or you can choose to indulge in a choice of six sponge cakes made from scratch on the premises or scones baked each morning again from raw ingredients, no packet mix here, in fact whatever you have you will be certain to be coming back for more.
You can also indulge in the time honoured tradition of Afternoon Tea with us, finger sandwiches, sumptuous handmade cakes and scones made fresh that morning served with strawberry preserve and clotted cream, 24 hours notice is required for the afternoon tea call 01227 730303 to book yours.
Gluten Free, we make our own gluten free soup, sponge cakes and fruit and cheese scones, so you need no longer look on longingly whilst your friends indulge.
Solley's Ice Cream Parlour
Visit the home of Kent’s favourite ice cream. Solley’s has been producing delicious real dairy ice cream on the family farm for over three decades, using local Channel Island milk & cream.
Explore the farm on one of the marked trails before visiting the Ice Cream Parlour and creating your own sundae from a choice of over 15 flavours of ice cream, all made on the farm. Hot drinks and light lunches are available and dogs are welcome.
Whether incorporating a visit to Solley’s with a day visiting local attractions, wanting to spend a few hours walking in the Kent countryside, or looking for somewhere to stay overnight before heading to the continent, the farm is conveniently located just 20 minutes from Dover, within easy reach of the port, Dover and Deal Castles and many other attractions.
Open daily from Easter until the end of September 11am – 4pm with free admission. Group visits are available by prior arrangement.
