On St George's Day, 23 April 1918, the Dover Patrol carried out one of the most famous naval actions of the First World War - the Raid on Zeebrugge.
In the Dover district we commemorate the Centenary of the Zeebrugge Raid 1918 - 2018. Here are some of the special events taking place:
- Dover Museum launches a new free commemorative exhibition 'Twisting the Dragon's Tail' on 21 April 2018.
- In Dover, on 23 April, parades and services organised by Dover Town Council to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Zeebrugge Raid.
- In Deal, on 23 April, the Royal Marines Heritage Trails will be launched. The Royal Marines played a pivotal role in the 1918 raid on Zeebrugge.
