Know Before You Go - Important Information

Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Our priority is to protect our local community, our visitors, our residents and the beautiful landscape around us. When visiting White Cliffs Country we ask you please to follow Government guidelines as well as our own, to ensure that we all stay safe.

This Spring, tourism businesses across White Cliffs Country are beginning to re-open in line with the roadmap out of lockdown announced by the Government on 22nd February 2021. We recommend that you contact individual businesses for information about their re-opening plans, and for enquiries regarding requirements to book ahead, online or by phone. Direct contact details for White Cliffs Country tourism businesses are included within the accommodation, hospitality, attractions and events listings pages on this website.

Currently, many of our parks, gardens and beaches in White Cliffs Country, together with some of our heritage sites, are open under Government guidelines on access to local green space and for outdoor exercise. We regularly update our website with changes but would recommend that you use it for inspiration; plan ahead and check the sites of the places you want to visit directly, as some will need to be pre-booked in advance. More advice on leaving home can be found here.

The following recommendations will help ensure that you enjoy White Cliffs Country safely:

Contactless payment has become common practice across the country. If you prefer to pay with cash, it will be advisable to check with the business ahead of your purchase.

Face coverings

Currently in England it is mandatory to wear face masks on public transport. It is also currently mandatory to wear face coverings in all shops and in restaurants, bars and cafes unless seated at a table.

In line with Government guidance, we recommend that social distancing, frequent hand-washing and wearing face coverings remain the key actions to help protect everyone. Many of our businesses have invested in additional hygiene measures as part of their Covid-secure protocols to help keep everyone safe.
