Port of Dover Cruise

Choose Port of Dover as your departure port or a port of call in your cruise itinerary.

Dover is an award-winning cruise port, delivering world class travel and visitor experiences to the most prestigious cruise lines. Cruise Critic, the world’s leading cruise reviews site and online cruise community, named Port of Dover as Best UK Departure Port at the recent Cruise Critic UK Editors’ Picks Awards – the industry’s most comprehensive awards – recognising the best cruise lines and destinations of the year for UK cruisers, as chosen by the site’s international team of cruise experts.

As well as its stunning setting with the White Cliffs welcoming passengers, Dover has been hosting an increasing number of cruise lines, including Seabourn, Fred. Olsen, Hurtigruten, Costa and Carnival Pride for an entire season. We also applaud its investment in infrastructure and sustainability, including building a brand-new marina and collaborating with local and international partners to create a more seamless, sustainable and tech-enabled port.

With the ability to accommodate up to three ships simultaneously, the Port of Dover is strategically located for convenient turnaround and port-of-call visits to a range of exciting destinations, including France, Norway, the Baltic, Iceland and the Mediterranean. There are two terminals:

Cruise Terminal 1 Originally built in 1914 as Dover Marine Railway Station, the building has since been renovated to a distinctive cruise terminal while retaining the old station architecture. Cruise clients can enjoy the historic surroundings while relaxing in the stunning modern-day departure lounge.

Cruise Terminal 2 The largest of the terminals, Cruise Terminal 2 was purpose-built in 2000 along the lines of an airport terminal. It is spacious and every inch a 21st-century cruise terminal. From the first-floor departure lounge cruise clients can experience unimpeded, spectacular views of the harbour, the world-renowned White Cliffs and Dover Castle.

Cruise passengers who are both embarking and disembarking at both terminals are assisted with their baggage by skilled and friendly porters and both terminals have fast and efficient check-ins, comfortable lounges, washrooms, lifts and escalators to all floors, valet parking, wheelchair-accessible facilities, baggage handlers and secure berths.
