A Charlton Fine Arts recital with a difference! Superb and engaging young tenor Greg Tassell is joined by pianist Spencer Payne for a recital of song! Join them on a journey through English, French, Italian, Russian and German song, ultimate destination The Goons, Captain Beaky and Elvis! Greg and Spencer have developed this entertaining programme and are keen to bring it to Dover. Greg Tassell studied music at Exeter University, becoming a choral scholar at Exeter Cathedral under Andrew Millington. While studying at the Royal Academy of Music, he reached the finals of the London Handel Competition & London Bach Prize and was runner-up at the inaugural John Kerr Award for Early English Song. Greg has performed chorus and various small roles with English Touring Opera, being the first to ever play the role of Badger in Tobias Picker’s Fantastic Mr Fox. He was also part of ETO’s award-winning education programme, presenting opera to special needs children. Greg is a founder member of professional chamber choir Sonoro and vocal quartet Twilight ensemble and teaches singing at St Edmund’s school Canterbury. He conducts the Thanet Chamber Choir. Spencer Payne is the Director of Music at St Edmund's School, Canterbury. He has a Master’s degree and diplomas from the Royal College of Music, the Royal College of Organists and Trinity College, London.
