In a departure from the usual Sunday afternoon timing, the next Charlton Fine Arts recital will take place on the evening of Saturday 21st June when they invite you to join them for a programme of 'Cool Classics for Midsummer'.
In this recital Kent-based operatic soprano Sophie Radley accompanied at the organ and piano by Richard Davies will showcase some of the best-known pieces in the repertoire.
The programme features Mozart's dramatic motet 'Exsultate Jubilate' concluding with the famous 'Alleluia' alongside classics such as the Gounod and Schubert settings of 'Ave Maria' together with favourite arias from Handel's 'Messiah' including 'I know that my Redeemer liveth'.
There will also be a selection of pieces from early Italian opera and in between the vocal groups, Richard will play organ pieces by J S Bach, Alain and Scarlatti.
They hope you will be able to join them for this concert as a celebration of fine music in the magnificent acoustics of Charlton at midsummer!
