Each year Deal Music and Arts Festival combines summer, the seaside and wonderful classical and contemporary music, as well as theatre, opera, cinema and dance in the beautiful and historic surroundings of Deal, Sandwich and Dover on England’s south coast.
In 2024 the Deal Festival is going BIG with more events than ever before. Classical music will offer something for everyone, from favourites such as Bach’s complete Brandenburg concertos to new music in practically every concert. The festival theme of French Connections links events with special guest artists from France, a dedicated mini-French film series and French music galore.
There will be the chance for young people and families to experience music and theatre inside an inflatable Whale, to take part in dance events, family concerts and workshops for early years. Video game and film music can be heard LIVE in the opening concert and mythical figures from King Arthur to Dracula will grace the Astor Theatre stage offering a treat for all ages.
Bands, Jazz, Folk and World music can be soaked up across the festival at the Lighthouse Pub, in a special collaboration with the Smugglers Festival/Record Shop over two evenings and for free throughout the town as part of the Town Takeover.
The highly successful literature events include a whole day of poetry and a host of authors appearing to speak about their works.
Performances take place every day with morning, lunchtime, afternoon and evening events. There are some free events, half-price tickets for under 25s for all events and a range of prices for adults and children that can be found on the website.
