Updown Farmhouse celebrate the return of their guest chef series, inviting some of the UK’s most celebrated and exciting chefs for a series of collaborative evenings at their idyllic restaurant with rooms.

Guests will be able to enjoy one-off dinners by Aaron Potter, Mark Kempson, Lee Tiernan, Ben Tonks, Margot Henderson, Adejoké Bakare, Josean Balotin, Albert Smith and Chris Leach, who will each bring their own distinctive cuisines and expertise to the table.

Saturday 25 October: Aaron Potter

Aaron, Chef Owner of Wildflowers, will join Updown Farmhouse’s Oli in the kitchen, working together on a menu that combines the flavours of the Mediterranean with Oli’s love of Italian cuisine, all cooked over coals.

Friday 21 November: Mark Kempson and Rebecca Mascarenhas

Chef Mark and restaurateur Rebecca’s Kitchen W8 has held a Michelin star for fifteen years. Mark and Oli will create a menu that celebrates the very best of game season.

December/January: Lee Tiernan

Known for his bold and unexpected flavours, the chef of FKA Black Axe Mangal will work with Oli on a menu that reflects both his love of nose-to-tail cooking and the mangal grills of Northeast London.

Friday 6 February: Ben Tonks

Ben, chef at The Seahorse in Dartmouth, will bring his love of seafood to Kent. Working with Oli, they will create a menu which heralds local fish and seafood from the Kentish coast.

March: Margot Henderson

The co-founder of Rochelle Canteen and The Three Horseshoes in Somerset will bring her culinary expertise to a menu reflecting her traditional no-nonsense approach to cooking to create comforting dishes that utilise the best of local ingredients.

Sunday 26 April: Adejoké Bakare

Adejoké, of Michelin-starred Chishuru, returns to the Updown kitchen for an evening of West African cuisine. Adejoké’s menu draws inspiration from the recipes of her Nigerian childhood and the contrasting food traditions of her parents.

Friday 15 May: Josean Balotin

Head Chef Josean will bring Michelin-starred restaurant Mountain’s much-loved Spanish taste and Welsh influence to Updown’s wood-fired oven, creating a seasonally-led menu for diners to enjoy.

Friday 12 June: Albert Smith

Thai barbecue bar and restaurant Smoking Goat captures the bold and spicy flavours found across northern Thailand. Alongside Oli, head chef Albert will create an array of dishes which bring this signature smoke to Deal.
