This is the 11th series of Sky Arts' Landscape Artist of the Year and, for just one day, the White Cliffs will be transformed into a huge art studio. Come and watch as the artists battle it out, starting with a blank canvas and transforming it into a White Cliffs work of art.
There'll be lots to see, with two events running simultaneously - 8 qualifying competitors, who will be housed in 'pods', plus a Wildcard competition with 50 entrants, chosen from the applicants who didn't qualify. Judging takes place between 4.15-5.55pm, and the winners announced at 6pm.
- Admission to the event is free, but normal admission charges apply.
- Supervised children and dogs on leads are welcome.
- Painting and filming will take place near the Visitor Centre.
- The Visitor Centre, with accessible toilets, has step-free access from the disabled parking spaces and from the pedestrian path near the old wooden gates close to where the marquee will be positioned.
- There will be a shuttle minibus from the Additional Parking area to the coach park ramp and back every 30 minutes from 11am for a donation of £2 per journey (members and non-members). Last departure from coach park ramp 6.45pm. Both parking areas close at 7 pm.
- The additional parking is only a 15-minute walk away from these.
- The Visitor Centre cafe and shop will be open from 8am-6pm.
- Fan Bay Deep Shelter will be open from 11am to 3pm.
- South Foreland Lighthouse, Tea Room and Shop will be open from 11am to 5pm.
- The production company, Storyvault Films, will be taking still and video pictures throughout the day.
