Come on a brick-based, avian adventure into the wonderful world of birds and LEGO®!
A hoot for all the family, you’ll have a special opportunity to see some of the resident and visiting birds of Sandwich Bay as they are weighed, measured and ringed under licence (weather permitting).
You will learn all about the birds of the Bay - their behaviour, habitats, some of the threats they face and what we can do to help - as we take a birdwatching nature walk.
Then you will have a go at creating your own Kingfisher figure out of bricks.
Children must be accompanied by an adult who is able to encourage and help them with the activities.
Our session starts at 9am and ends at 12pm so please arrive in good time.
Some activities take place outdoors and we recommend appropriate clothing for all weathers (sun cream, hats, water bottle etc.)
This event is suitable for those over 5 years old.
Cost: £10 per person, which includes bricks to make your own LEGO® Kingfisher. Unless you wish to build your own Kingfisher, accompanying adults are free.
Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory lies within the private estate of Sandwich Bay, which operates a toll road. There is a small fee of £1 at the Tollgate for non-members visiting the Observatory. However, you must exit from the same toll booth, otherwise you will be charged £5.
Once at the Field Centre, parking is free. If the toll booth operators are absent during the time of your visit, you can pay the £1 charge on your exit
