Our wonderful stretch of the English coastline is one of the most remarkable places to play golf in the country, where the legendary links of Royal St George’s, Royal Cinque Ports and Prince’s have been captivating golfers for over a century.
Links golf is special. Moulded by the wind, weather and natural contours of the coastline, these courses offer fast-running fairways, rolling dunes and ever‑changing conditions that test creativity as much as precision. Every round feels different and every hole tells a story, which is why golfers travel from across the globe to play here.
The history of these courses is woven into the fabric of the sport. Royal St George’s has hosted The Open more times than any other course in England. Royal Cinque Ports staged The Open twice in the early 20th century and remains a favourite for elite competitions. Prince’s famously hosted The Open in 1932, when Gene Sarazen introduced the modern sand wedge to the world. Together, they form a coastline of golfing legends.
Over the next few years, Kent’s Golf Coast will welcome an exceptional line‑up of major tournaments (please see below), including Final Qualifying for The Open, the AIG Women’s Open, the Women’s Amateur Championship, the Boys’ Amateur Championship and the prestigious Walker Cup, which will be played at Prince's in 2030.
Whether you visit to watch world‑class golf, to walk in the footsteps of champions or to enjoy the atmosphere of these extraordinary coastal courses, Kent’s Golf Coast offers an unforgettable experience.
