Situated in the heart of the town just off the main square, Hercules Wines sources and sells a wide range of delicious, interesting and sometimes hard to find wines. They are particularly proud that they sell some beautiful wines produced by local Kent vineyards, not to mention locally produced beers and spirits.
You’ll get a warm welcome and there is usually a bottle or two open to taste over the weekend (including Sundays).
Most of the wines are on display at the front of the shop, but don’t miss out on exploring the wine cellar which is tucked away behind the main shop. Its domed ceiling combined with its cool and dark atmosphere is perfect for wine storage, not to mention giving it a touch of 'old French chateau'. You will find some of the finest wines from across the globe in there and you are welcome to wander in and explore what it has to offer. Alternatively, the friendly staff will happily offer suggestions, whether you are looking for a special gift or just something to open at home.
Hercules Wines also supplies local restaurants and sponsors local events and teams.
Look out for regular tasting evenings and 'Sipping Saturdays' which showcase local producers.
