Stay in a luxury 2-bed cottage on the beautiful Solton Manor estate.
Dovecote Cottage is an Accommodation. Area Deal, Dover
Solton Manor is a Grade II-listed estate, with roots that stretch back to the Domesday Book of 1086. Tucked just to the left of the main house is Dovecote Cottage.
Set away from the manor house itself, the cottage enjoys its own outlook onto a beautiful pond. Inside, there are two contemporary double bedrooms, sleeping four people, and an open-plan living area plus shower room.
The property was originally built to house pigeons and doves, and was a symbol of self-sufficiency and status on English Tudor estates. By the late 20th century, the dovecote had fallen into disuse, and careful restoration was started in 1991. Period features, such as the brickwork and solid oak door, have been carefully restored and the interior discreetly modernised. Today Dovecote Cottage is a cosy retreat ideal for short stays and weekend breaks.
Inside, you’ll find two cosy bedrooms sleeping up to four guests, a stylish shower room, and an open-plan living and dining area for slow mornings and lazy evenings. Every detail has been carefully considered to create a welcoming space that feels both relaxed and refined.
