The Wild Kitchen was founded in 2012 by renowned forager and innovative wild-food chef, Lucia Stuart, who champions connection via wild food. Lucia owned a restaurant in south west France in the 1990s which was frequented by a botanist who came with his arms full of plants for the menu. Food from le terroir kindled an interest in the freshest and most seasonal ingredients straight from the land and the restaurant Cafe du Livre was featured in The New York Times. The decade in France became the foundation of The Wild Kitchen today. In 2011, Lucia published Eating Flowers, an illustrated foraging cook book for children promoting a reconnection with nature, good nutrition and simple recipes.
