Book a 1-hour taster session and have a go at the ancient art of stone carving!

Experienced stonemason Carrie Horwood will guide you through the process and help you to carve something of your own choosing from a selection of simple designs at her studio and workshop in the heart of Sandwich. These short sessions are an excellent way to see how creative this craft is and how engaging it can be for children who may struggle with concentration. Carrie has been running 'have-a-go' workshops for over 10 years and has received excellent feedback.

Booking in advance is essential - please email or phone. 

  • £45/ person
  • Up to 2 people at a time
  • Please wear sturdy shoes, keep long hair tied back and no dangly earrings
  • Suitable for 10 years+; children must be accompanied by an adult
  • Safety goggles and all necessary equipment is provided. 

You will get a small piece of Jurassic limestone to carve and take away with you.
