This digital trail has been funded by the European Space Agency and is the second project delivered by Dover District Council working in partnership with Gazooky Studios. The first project is The Coastal Voices trail (see below).
Rose Kay from Gazooky Studios said: “It has been a privilege to work on the Dover History Trail and to contribute in a small way to the town’s tourism and cultural life. Dover has an extraordinary history, and what makes this trail special is that people can experience stories in the places where they actually happened. Our aim has been to create something accessible, engaging and rooted in the character of Dover itself.”
Anita Sedgewick from DDC’s Place and Growth team, said: “As visitors move through Dover, they can access engaging, place-specific content that reveals the layers of heritage shaping the town today. The approach creates a living, accessible layer of heritage that supports tourism, education and local engagement.”
