A stroll between sacred sites, exploring the folklore and customs of saints and the pilgrimage tradition.
From miracles to magical protection, the medieval practice of English pilgrimage is rich with strange customs and beliefs. This walk will navigate the folklore of Sandwich's parish saints and celebrate the run-up to St. Bartholomew's feast day.

What to expect:
- Welcome refreshments at Sandwich Medieval Centre.
- A walk beginning and ending at accessible locations, with public car parks nearby.
- Easy town-centre terrain, involving some narrow lanes.
- An introduction to the folklore and customs of pilgrimage.
- Readings, light-hearted ritual actions and maybe a pilgrim's song along on the way.
- A commemorative folk tract to walk with and take home.
- Ending at Creepy Moon for a celebratory seasonal beverage, inspired by the hedgerows of late summer.
Tickets for the folkwalk are limited and must be booked in advance. Suitable for ages 16+.
