2026 marks the fifth year of Lydden Hill Motorsport Club’s iconic Soapbox Race! This year we’re going bigger, louder, and more creative than ever. Expect new surprises, bold designs, and a whole lot of downhill chaos in the best possible way!!
They are welcoming teams of all ages and abilities to take part. Your kart won’t just need to reach the finish line and tackle our obstacles, we’ll also be awarding prizes for the Most Creative Kart, so bring your imagination and engineering magic!
The 2026 race will be taking place on Saturday 4th April, with action kicking off from midday

A few important bits to know:
- Drivers must be 16 or over to take part. If you’re between 16–18, we’ll need a quick proof of age.
- Teams can have up to 5 people, so gather your crew and get building!
