Interested in stargazing? The National Trust have a special visit from the SE Kent Astronomical Society to show you how astronomy can be enjoyed safely in the daytime too.
Discover some of the delights of the day and night sky as South East Kent Astronomical Society bring their equipment and photographs to entertain you. If the weather is bad, there will still be lots to see as the astronomers share their photographs and talk about their equipment and achievements with you in the Marconi Hut.
This is a free event with no booking required. Supervised children are welcome. The weather can change rapidly on the cliffs, so please dress appropriately. We recommend stout shoes and trousers for the walk to the lighthouse.
Please note there is no parking at South Foreland Lighthouse. You can park at the White Cliffs Visitor Centre (normal parking charges apply) and walk across the cliffs (approximately 50 minutes) or use the public car park in St Margaret’s Bay and walk up to the lighthouse. Please see the National Trust website for full details.
