Event organisers

Whether you are planning a public event or would like help to promote an event, we can help.

Event planning

Dover District Council provides comprehensive information and advice about holding an event on council land and on non-DDC land. Follow the easy steps and download the toolkit to find out more.

The Events Safety Advisory Group provides support and guidance to all event organisers and includes representatives from Dover District Council, Emergency services and Kent Highways. The group works with event organisers to ensure a safe and successful event.

Temporary Event Notices (TENs)

Temporary Event Notices (TENs) allow you to carry out ‘licensable activities’ in premises that don't have a licence for that activity, such as serving alcohol, providing entertainment and serving hot food overnight. Applying for a licence is formally known as ‘serving’ a TEN. You will also need a TEN if a particular licensable activity is not included in the terms of your existing licence, for example, holding a wedding reception at a community centre.

Promote your event

An event is nothing without a crowd. The What's On pages on our website are the go-to listings for events in the district, viewed by tens of thousands of people and included in our weekly What's On email bulletins. We are happy to list any event taking place in the district that may be of interest to visitors. Please complete this online form and send us high-quality images to illustrate the listing:

Please note that we do not list very small local events, such as coffee mornings and bake sales.
